Robbie Book – Author

Robbie Book was born in Sunderland and grew up in the town where his family ran the well-known ‘Books Fashions’ shop. Robbie’s fascination with the shipbuilding history of his home town became an important driver in his own life. Following education at Carmel College in Oxfordshire, he embarked on a career that took him around the world – by sea and air – setting up major infrastructure projects across Africa. Eventually he reverted to the greatest passion of his life: the worldwide development of club cricket.
‘Noah’s Pact’ is the fulfilment of Robbie’s desire to tell the story of a Sunderland shipping family attempting to negotiate the challenges – technical and emotional – of the twentieth century.
